The summer Drive’s Education sign-up list is now in the Guidance Office.       

If you will be 16 years old by July 1^st and would like to take driver’s education this summer, please sign up in the Guidance Office.

   Details about the summer program have not been finalized, BUT the course generally runs every day for six weeks of the summer. Students are limited to three absences. The cost for this year’s program is $50. Students must have a valid learner’s permit to start the course.

     We are limited to the number of students who can take the course. Older students will be given preference.

 Sign-ups for Fall 2008 Sports are now taking place in the gymnasium. Please sign-up by writing your name on the appropriate list on the weight room doors if you are interested in playing a sport next fall. The lists will be taken down and sign-ups will end Wednesday, June 4^th.

    If you are a student currently in 7^th grade who would like to play a JV or Varsity sport next fall you must see Mr. Davis or Mrs. Ellis for the paperwork to initiate the Selective Classification process.

Internet Safety for Kids:

With 17 million youth ages 12 through 17 using the Internet it is crucial to empower them to make responsible decisions online. The Internet provides immediate access to a wealth of information and the ability to communicate with friends and family all over the world. However, it is also important to understand the potential risks children can be exposed to including inappropriate material, sexual solicitation, cyber bullying, or theft of personal information.  At J-T, we are very concerned with this growing risk for our youth.  For that reason, we are in the process of coordinating with an FBI Special Agent who will be coming to do an internet safety presentation for parents…more details to come!
