April 8th Last night under a clear blue sky our girls track team competed against Addison.  Girls who won their events were as follows.  Lyzz Tormey soared to a victory in the 100 hurdles.  Katie Wyant won the open 400 easily with a great time.  Sadie Button was a blur of motion winning the 400 hurdles.  McKenzie Kraus dominated the throwing events winning both the Shot put and the discus.  Mykallin Snow, Aubry Fry, Lyzz Tormey, and  Kerrigan Lisi won the 1600 Relay.  Girls who ripped down second or third place finishes were Keah Kraus, Shelby Button, Kerrigan Lisi, Tyler Calkins, and Machael Fry.  This incredible effort was not enough to beat the Addison girls, but it certainly showed the fans J-T girls are a force to be reckoned with!

The boys track and field wildcats pounced on the Addison Knights last night.  Earl Potter exploded onto the track with four pulse pounding victories in the 100 dash, the shot, the disc, and he was part of the winning 4x1 team.  Derek Nosar roared to victory in the 800.  It was air Prutsman last night when Zach won the triple jump.  Josh Peraldo owned the hurdles last night winning the 110 and 400 hurdles.  Brandon Marlatt left fire on the track after winning the open 200 and the open 400.  The Boys 400 relay posse took the track by storm with Derek Hoyt, Derek Nosar, Josh Peraldo, and Marty Potter comprising its crew.  Second and third place finishes were nailed by Evan Cornell, Derek Hoyt, Brandon Marlatt, Josh Peraldo, Josh White, Ezra Schenk, and Shane Guinup.  All this fire was mixed into a cauldron of victory with J-T boys 74 to Addison boys 54!

April 19th On Saturday some of the J-T track and field team challenged a field full of talented teams.  Josh Peraldo led the day with placing in the pole vault, the 110 meter hurdles, and being on the scoring 400 meter relay team.  From the slow heat J-T scored a place in strong field with Derek Hoyt, Marty Potter, Brandon Marlatt, and of course Josh in the 400 relay.  On the girls side Sadie Button won a ribbon in open 400 meter hurdles.  Keah Kraus spent the day battling in the Pentathlon and walked away with a ribbon at the end.  In other areas athletes improved their times and distances against a very strong field this yea

April 22nd The guys tied the Campbell-Savona juggernaut last night in track and field, and defeated Bradford.  All three relays were won by the JT boys last night to the delight of the crowd.  Boys on those relay teams were Josh Peraldo, Marty Potter, Brandon Marlatt, Derek Nosar, Derek Hoyt, Shane Guinup, and Evan Cornel.  Josh Peraldo won the 110 hurdles and discus.  Earl Potter roared to a first place in the 100 meter.  Evan Cornell took the mile in a dazzling 100 kick.  Also scoring points in the meet were Marty Potter, Ezra Schenk, David Lubberts, Josh Peraldo, Zach Prutsman, and Derek Nosar.  Great job guys!

April 26th  Over the weekend the JT Wildcats went to a track meet featuring some large schools and unbelievable competition. Our athletes did well with some getting personal bests, some coming close to scoring, and some just gutsy enough to challenge that level of competition. Katie Wyant scored in the meet winning the 400 meter dash and placing 4th in the 200 dash. Great job Wildcats.

May 17th On Saturday the JT Wildcats went to Wellsville Spring Days for the last invitational of the season.  On the guys side Josh Peraldo scored 2080 points in the pentathlon to place 5th in a large field.  The guys 1600 relay team placed fifth with the efforts of Derek Nosar, Marty Potter, Evan Cornell, and Brandon Marlatt.

On the girls side three extraordinary things happened.  First…since 1983…a record was set in the 800 meter race that many great athletes have tried to overcome and have come up short.  A quarter of a century later a dedicated track athlete named Katie Wyant  ran the event and beat our school record with a time of  2:25.6!  The next extrodinatry thing that happened Saturday is that Katie won not only the 800, but she won the 400 and placed third in the 100.  This gave Katie a combined total of 26 points which is a lot of points for an individual to score at a big meet like Wellsville Spring Days.  As if all that wasn’t awesome enough Shelby Button, Kerrigan Lisi, Lyzz Tormey, and Alyssa Bonsignore competed in a event that JT hasn’t competed in the last five years at least.  This week records will be checked to see if their excellent time in this event beats past performances in the shuttle hurdles.  They placed fifth their time only a second behind Bath, Hornell, and School of the Arts.  Great job everyone!

On Friday night Lyzz Tormey and Aubry Fry competed in the Steeple Chase at Cambell-Savona.  Lyzz Tormey finished second in the race and Aubry Fry did the event for her first time.  Both did a fine job!

May 23rd  Friday night JT went to compete at the Steuben Country Championships held in Campbell-Savona.  Katie Wyant blistered the 400 winning easily, and came in second in the 100 and 200.  Machael Fry scored 1992 points in the pentathlon coming in second.  Sadie Button flew to a second place in the 400 hurdles.  Lyzz Tormey got a fourth place ribbon in Steeple chase and a sixth place ribbon in the 400 hurdles.

On the guys side the boys 1600 relay comprised of Derek Hoyt, Derek Nosar, Josh Peraldo, and Evan Cornell placed third with a time of 3:50.  The 400 relay composed David Lubberts, Justin Manley-Smith, Shane Guinnip, and Derek Nosar. Josh Peraldo placed 5th in 110 hurdles and 6th in pole vault.

May 31st - On Saturday the JT track team watched the skies open and had sectional ribbons rain down on them. Josh Peraldo scored 4 sectional ribbons. Brandon Marlatt ripped down three sectional ribbons. Marty Potter won two sectional ribbons. Evan Cornell took away two sectional ribbons. Derek Hoyt won a sectional ribbon.

On the girls side Shelby Button took three ribbons. Sadie Button won three ribbons. Lyzz Tormey grabbed three ribbons. Kerrigan Lisi won two ribbons. Katie Wyant won two beautiful sectional shields and got a ribbon to boot.

Congratulations everyone for bringing the colorful ribbon rain.
